Privacy policy
Motoplanner, published by Hotarubi. Effective 11 October 2026.
Account
Signing up stores your name and email address. If you use a password, we keep a one-way hash of it, never the password itself. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us, and nothing else from your Google account. We send account emails, such as verification and password resets, to the address you gave us and to no one else.
Your rides
Rides you plan, including stops, day splits and any GPX or KML file you upload, are stored on our servers so they are ready when you come back. Only you can see your rides. We do not sell or share ride data.
Maps and routing
Planning a route sends place names and coordinates to map and routing services. Some of these are third party and some are hosted by us. Each service processes the queries you run, and the third-party ones are covered by their own privacy policies.
Cookies
A signed session cookie keeps you signed in and expires after 30 minutes. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Analytics
We use analytics tools to count page views. They set no third-party cookies and build no profile of you. While signed in, your visits are linked to your account so they are not counted twice. We do not run ads.
Error reporting
We use error reporting tools to collect crash reports: what broke, where, and which device and browser were involved. That is how bugs get fixed.
Data retention
We keep your account and ride data for as long as you have an account. To delete your account, send an email to hey@hotarubi.dev. Your account and all of your rides will be deleted.
Children
Motoplanner is a general audience tool. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version is published at this URL with a new effective date.
